The only reason i bought the boat i have now is it has diesels,And have been told the only one in the Greatlakes area with diesels. I have decided that Carver made a design error in putting the opening from the stern on the wrong side. Boats vary in quality and reliability over the years and from model to model. Just not as active...and some of you know why. For what it's worth, I've had my Carver for a year and a half and am still absolutely thrilled with it. Thanks to every one for there comments. That is to say they are set up to give maximum performance with little regard to longevity and whats best for the motor.The website Boatdiesel is an excellent wealth of information. Their models range from 34 feet to 52 feet with a portfolio of 7 models from the Carver 34 Coupe to the C52 Command Bridge. I have always had boats with only an upper helm and have never been unhappy with it. Not particularly interested in the swim platform area at this time.
